El Recio results encourage Greenstone

The 2,000-acre property, in the Abangares gold district of Costa Rica, hosts at least 16 gold-bearing vein structures within Tertiary age volcanic rocks.

Underground sampling on the property’s south Recio vein returned 0.24 oz gold per ton across 4 ft for a drift length of 312 ft, of which 144 ft graded 0.35 oz gold per ton. Surface assays reported previously by Greenstone include 0.43 oz gold over 4.8 ft.

The vein is about 2,100 ft away from the north Recio deposit, where the company has outlined a small open pit reserve. Greenstone is exploring several veins on the property as part of a program to increase reserves prior to a feasibility study. The study is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 1990.
