People (October 17, 1988)

Well-known Canadian geologist Steven Scott has been appointed Chairman of the Geological Engineering division at the University of Toronto. A professor of geology at the University of Toronto, Dr Scott succeeds Fred DeLory.


HECLA MINING – W. Glen Zinn, vice-president and assistant to the chairman is now in charge of exploration succeeding Gene K. Ealy who has retired.


CAMECO — A Canadian Mining and Energy Corp. — Bernard Michel appointed senior vice-president of operations. Cameco is the new company which was formed by the merger of Eldorado Nuclear Ltd. with Saskatchewan Mining Development Corp.


REA GOLD CORP — Sam Grippo and Bill Timklw appointed to the board.


IRON ORE COMPANY OF CANADA — Carl E. Nickels, Jr will retire as chairman and president effective Nov 30, but will remain a director.
