Drill-indicated reserves at the Dubuisson East property near Val d’Or, Que., are approaching 500,000 tons at an average grade of 0.17 oz gold per ton, Minefinders Corp. (VSE) reports.
The deposit remains open at depth and the drilling continues, says the company, which feels reserves of 750,000 tons are needed to justify an underground program.
Because of favorable results at Dubuisson East, drilling of late has been focused on this target, the company reports. Previous drilling programs have also identified targets on three other company properties — Dubuisson West, Agar and Malartic — for which follow-up drilling programs have been prepared.
The company has also undertaken surface exploration work on two other properties, Lada and Opawica. All six projects are located in northwestern Quebec.
A major shareholder and gold- producer, Malartic Hygrade Gold Mines (Canada) (VSE), operates Minefinders.
