A $450,000, 4-month work program on property in each of Laberge and Desboues twps. in northwestern Quebec has been completed by Explorations Trois- Dimensions. The program consisted of geophysical surveys and diamond drilling.
Eight holes were drilled on the Laberge property to investigate five geophysical anomalies. The gold- bearing geological unit consisted of an intermediate composition tuff injected with quartz-carbonate veinlets containing fine disseminated pyrite, the company reports.
Among the results were 0.69 g gold per tonne over 14.8 m, with a section of 1.82 g over 4.5 m from footage 57 to 61.5 m. Also, at a depth of 119.7 m, a quartz- carbonate vein containing 20% pyrrhotite and 2% chalcopyrite indicated 1.65 g over 1.3 m.
On the Desboues property, seven holes were drilled to test overweak geophysical anomalies. Complete assay results are awaited. One hole intersected gold values varying from 0.25 g to 0.6 g. Acid tuff and rhyolite units were intersected in all holes, the company reports.
The company intends to perform more drilling on the two properties.
