COATS Trading Features (November 30, 1987)

Long suffering Carolin Mines shareholders saw some volume this week as 177,000 shares traded hands. The issue was unchanged at $1.70 after hitting a high of $1.80. Carolin owns a low grade gold deposit in B.C., which ran into numerous problems three years, effectively precluding any real gold production. A new group is reassessing the technical merits of the property.

Glencairn Explorations gained on news of an option deal with Utah Mines. The latter company has the right to earn a 55% interest in Glencairn’s Blue Mountain property west of Kirkland Lake, Ont. The issue was stronger at 43 cents -48 cents today.

Hardrock Extension was also better at 60 cents -80 cents — up 25 cents for the week. The company is getting encouraging drill results from its exploration effort near Geraldon, Ont. As reported last week, one hole cut 20 ft grading 0.3 oz gold per ton.

Sleepy New Augarita Porcupine Mines awakened to the tune of 104,900 shares being traded this week. The volume had little effect on the price, which drifted between 8 cents -14 cents .

Findore Minerals, which was a star performer last week, held on to recent gains, closing at 55 cents -65 cents . The company is busy in the booming Harker-Holloway area near Matheson, Ont.
