China will be using technology from Peoria, Ill. -based Caterpillar Inc. to manu facture models of track-type tractors, wheel- loaders, log-skidders and engines. Also, the Caterpillar World Trading Corp. is working on countertrade arrangemen ts with the Chinese. The intent of these arrangements is to help China generate some of the foreign exchange necessary for the purchase of parts and components from Caterpillar.
