Taywin completes drilling Electrum gold/silver bet

Encouraged by drill results at its Electrum gold- silver prospect on Vancouver Island, Taywin Resources is considering the possibility of direct shipping some of the high grade ore on the property.

President J. D. Graham reports that following good results from the last drilling phase the company is proceeding with final feasibility work to determine the economics of direct shipping the high grade but limited tonnage Electrum vein ore. The scale and type of operation, however, will depend on results of ongoing exploration and metallurgical testing.

Taywin earned a 55% interest in the property from BP Minerals in August. An earlier drilling program involved some 2,600 ft of diamond drilling and 765 ft of percussion drilling. Taywin has spent approximately $420,000 on exploration work to date.

Results are awaited for the recently completed 1,000-ft drilling program. Four holes were drilled to explore the Anomaly Creek vein, a showing with rock type similar to the high grade Electrum vein. The Anomaly Creek outcrop is 65 ft long and 10 ft wide, Graham reports.

Another four holes tested the strong quartz vein in the C zone. Surface sampling and short percussion drilling indicates grades averaging in the range of 0.15 oz gold per ton and 1.0 oz silver. Grab samples reported as high as 0.48 oz gold and 113 oz silver.
