Northair picks up Mexican property

Beating the bushes for projects in Durango state, Mexico, International Northair Mines (INM-V) has tied up six exploration concessions covering 10 sq. km and seven gold-silver showings.

The new land package, which Northair calls “El Tesoro,” contains a 3-km strike length of parallel vein systems with “at least seven” zones of low-sulphidation, epithermal-style mineralization. Vein widths run from about 1.5 metres to 20 metres, and the mineralogy suggests the showings are relatively high in the hydrothermal system.

The mineralization is mainly obscured by younger volcanic rocks, but erosional windows in the cover have allowed local artisanal miners to take out some material. Northair’s own sampling has returned average grades of around 6.9 grams gold and 39 grams silver per tonne.

Northair staked two of the concessions; the other four are subject to property deals that require Northair to pay a total of US$530,000 over four years.
