GQ reveals more diamonds

Ongoing geochemical sampling at the GQ diamond property near Wawa, Ont., has yielded more diamonds for Band-Ore Resources (BAN-T).

Three macrodiamonds (stones with one dimension greater than 0.5 millimetre) and 48 microdiamonds were picked from 33.8 kg of bedrock taken 75 metres northwest of the original discovery area. The largest stone was less than 1 millimetre in all directions, though it and most of the others are described as white and transparent.

A second, 44-kg sample, taken 100 metres to the southeast, returned six stones, two of which were macros. These are also described as white and transparent.

The latest results bring to 200 the number of diamonds recovered from a 100-sq.-metre area. Another 30 targets, elsewhere on the property, are targeted for stripping and sampling.
