Sirios reports v.g. at Aquilon

Partners Sirios Resources (SOI-M) and Soquem have uncovered more high-grade gold at their Aquilon property in the James Bay region of Quebec.

Grab samples from trenches and outcrops ran up to 295 grams per tonne; the best result from channel sampling was 7.51 grams over 0.5 metre. All were of narrow quartz veins or stockworks, several of which displayed visible gold.

Exploration is focused on a felsic-to-mafic metavolcanic belt discovered in 1997 and subsequently shown to contain gold in three areas spanning a length of 3 km. Minor copper and zinc occur in places, and drilling earlier this year returned best results of 12.3 grams over 0.75 metre and 10 grams over 1.5 metres in wider but lower-grade halos.

Sirios owns an 80% interest in the property, with Soquem holding the remainder. The latter, which is owned by the Quebec government, can increase its interest to 50% by spending $400,000 on exploration over three years.
