Lakefield Research has opened an office in Argentina as part of its $2.3-million environmental baseline study of the country’s southernmost regions.
The project, part of an effort to develop the country’s mining industry, is being financed in part by the World Bank. Canadian, Argentine and Chilean companies will take part in the study, which will focus on the geology, ecology, water systems and climate of Rio Negro, Neuquen, Chubut, Santa Cruz and Tierra del Fuego provinces.
