BHP swaps ground for Eastmain shares

BHP Minerals (BHP-N) will transfer base metal and gold exploration properties in eastern Canada to Eastmain Resources (ER-T) in exchange for shares, the number of which will be decided following a due diligence review of the properties.

The deal involves a portfolio of copper-zinc, volcanogenic-massive-sulphide exploration projects within the mining camps of Matagami, Que., and Bathurst, N.B., as well as gold properties in Quebec and Ontario.
