By signing two exploration permits, West African Mining Exploration (ME) will acquire a 75% interest in the mining concessions of Tambaga and Tindangou in southeastern Burkina Faso.
The permits add 1,000 sq. km to West African’s holdings in Burkina Faso, bringing the total area to 3,900 sq. km. The company is trenching on its Mires and Lopal properties.
Tambaga and Tindangou are contiguous, and cover the Pama greenstone belt.
According to West African, existing geological and geophysical data provide favorable indicators for the presence of large gold and base metal deposits.
Both concessions contain notable artisanal mining works.
To acquire the properties, West African paid US$5,000 per permit, along with a commission remittance in the form of 5,000 West African shares.
