The latest stepout hole at the Prairie Creek property, 500 km west of Yellowknife, N.W.T., has extended the strike length of the Zone 3 vein deposit to 1.9 km.
Prior to this year’s drilling, San Andreas Resources (TSE) had defined a geological resource of 4 million tonnes grading 12% zinc, 14.3% lead and 0.4% copper, plus 218.2 grams silver per tonne, within the Zone 3 vein over a strike length of 850 metres. The property hosts a total geological resource of 6.8 million tonnes grading 12.9% zinc and 12.2% lead, plus 180 grams silver, within a series of vein and stratiform deposits.
To date, six holes have extended the Zone 3 vein an additional 1,050 metres northward.
The most recent intersection from hole 95-122 returned 5.4 metres of 12.5% zinc, 5.6% lead and 0.5% copper, as well as 202.7 grams silver per tonne at a depth of 761.4-766.8 metres.
Hole 95-122 is a stepout, 206 metres north of 95-116, which intersected 4.2 metres of 4.7% zinc, 2.2% lead and 0.1% copper, plus 39.9 grams silver, at a depth of 682-686.2 metres. A visual inspection of hole 95-116 determined the intersection to be typical of the vein structure but of lower-grade mineralization. Hole 95-116 lies 220 metres north of the previously reported stepout hole 95-109.
San Andreas reports that a stratiform, sulphide-bearing structure was intercepted in Zone 5, some 1,100 metres south of the Zone 3 stratiform mineralization. Hole 95-124 intersected more than 1.3 metres of massive sulphides, which are described as mostly pyritic with minor sphalerite and galena.
