Data will be available next year from this summer’s geochemical survey that covered the Cry Lake area east of Dease Lake, in northwestern British Columbia.
The region is relatively unexplored, and is considered to have significant mineral potential. It hosts several known showings, including the Kutcho Creek massive sulphide deposit, a body of copper, lead, zinc, silver and gold mineralization. The geology of the region also has potential for lode gold, porphyry copper-gold and base-metal massive sulphide deposits.
Results of the lake and stream sediment-sampling program will be available in both map and digital formats.
The survey is the initiative of the B.C. government’s Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.
