Roxmark pulls high-grade gold at Northern Empire (August 13, 2007)

Recent drilling at the Northern Empire property, northeast of Beardmore, Ont., has intersected high-grade gold mineralization.

Roxmark Mines (RMK-V, RMKL-C) is drilling shallow mineralization above a diabase dyke about 700 metres east of the shaft of the former producing mine. Two zones, Power and Contact, have been drilled over a 200-metre strike length.

One hole, O7-9B, intersected 0.9 metres grading 59.4 grams gold per tonne, while two others to the west of it intersected 0.8 metres grading 13.2 grams and 0.8 metres grading 21.5 grams per tonne. A hole 50 metres to the east of 07-9B cut 1.4 metres grading 11.7 grams gold per tonne. All those intersections were in the Contact zone.

Earlier drilling had intersected high-grade mineralization on both zones, including 20.6 grams per tonne over 1.4 metres on Power. Toward the eastern end of the two zones, grades decrease to the 1-gram to 5-gram range.
