Platmin puts resource number on two Pilanesberg deposits

Platmin (PPN-T, PPN-L) has published new resource estimates for two deposits on its Pilanesberg platinum-group-element property in the Bushveld intrusive complex of northern South Africa.

A new estimate on the Tuschenkomst deposit puts its measured and indicated resource at 66.8 million tonnes grading 2.09 grams total precious metals per tonne (that is, gold, platinum, palladium and rhodium).

At the Ruighoek deposit, an indicated resource has been calculated down to a limit of 200 metres vertical depth. Altogether 12 million tonnes at 3.07 grams total precious metals per tonne has been blocked out.

On the whole Pilanesberg project, measured and indicated resources (including two other properties, Witkleifontein and Rooderand) total 78.8 million tonnes grading 2.24 grams total precious metals per tonne. Another 39.2 million tonnes, at 4.54 grams per tonne, is an inferred resource.

Of those resources, 57.1 million tonnes of the indicated resource and 28.4 million tonnes of the inferred resource are attributable to Platmin, the rest to other owners on the six-property land package.

A final feasibility study is nearing completion.
