South-Malartic extends high-grade shoot at Croinor

Junior South-Malartic Exploration (MSU-V) has exteded a high-grade shoot at its Croinor gold project near Val d’Or, Quebec.

Hole CR-130 returned 23 metres averaging an uncut 9.76 grams per tonne, including 3 metres at 53.4 grams. The mineralized-interval is 30 metres north and at depth of two intervals yielded in holes 57 and 423.

Hole 56, which was drilled last summer, averaged 3.65 grams over 8.65 metres, while historic hole 423 averaged 4.37 grams over 2.98 metres. Combined with the newer interval, the three outline a tabular lens similar to others found at the property.

Several others holes drilled at the southern contact of the host diorite resturned similarly encouraging results: hole 123 yielded 6.49 grams over 8.3 metres, including 148 grams over 0.3 metre; hole 133 yielded 2.36 grams over 8.8 metres; and hole 135 yielded 16.7 grams over 2.6 metres. A fourth hole, 134, intersected 6.4 metres of mineralized diorite running 2.95, roughly 10 metres from surface.

South-Malartic also has outlined two geophysical anomalies, both 600 metres in length. One suggests mineralization extend eastwards from known mineralization and the other lies on the southern contact of the diorite that hosts the main Croinor deposit.

Mineralization, consisting of chalcopyrite, pyrite and native gold, occurs in three related structures: shallow, sub-vertical shear zones within an altered dioritic intrusive; tension veins perpendicular to the shear zones; and brecciated diorite. The deposit remains open at depth and along strike.

Huntington Exploration (HEI-V), which originally optioned the property to South-Malartic and which retains a 30% back-in right, has paid a required $283,888 to keep its option valid.

Based on both the drilling and geophysical results, South-Malartic has staked another 22 claims around the Croinor property to increase its overall size to 4,879 ha. For similar reasons, four other properties have been acquired in the vicinity.

Huntington has a 30%-participating interest in all of the new aquisitions.
