Bonanza Ledge yields bonanza grades

Vancouver – Underground drilling on the Bonanza Ledge zone on International Wayside’s (IWA-V) Cariboo gold property near Barkerville, British Columbia has yielded a very high-grade gold intersection. As well, the 10,000 tonne bulk sample on the Bonanza Ledge zone has now been completed and is at various stages of processing.

Results from seven of the underground holes were highlighted by an intercept grading 0.31 oz. gold per ton over 81.5 feet, including 0.63 oz. over 30.8 feet in hole UG04-30 at a downhole depth of 278 feet. Hole 30 is one of two that tested the down-dip extent of the Main Zone on Section 20120E. More drilling is proposed to test the extent of the mineralized zone at depth.

Holes 24 and 25 tested the Main Zone below the 20100E drift which had been part of the 10,000 tonne bulk sample some 60 and 130 ft down dip. Lower grade mineralization was intersected but over significant widths. Infill drilling is also planned for this section to determine if it will be included in the 70,000 tonne mine permit which is being coordinated by Golder Associates in accordance with the provincial Mines Act.

With surface drill permits in hand, drilling is to begin immediately with another two drills. Drilling will test the strike extension of the Main and Discovery zones to the southeast.

The bulk sample is being processed at Imperial Metals’(III-V) nearby Mount Polley mine 3,800 tonnes has already been shipped and the rest (6,500 tonnes) which is now stockpiled will be hauled to the mill over the next few days. Potential mining of the project would involve a combination of underground and surface methods.
