Kinross drilling intersects gold on Duquesne West

Drilling by Kinross Gold (K-T) on the Duquesne West property northwest of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., where it is earning an interest from Globex Mining Enterprises (GMX-V), has intersected a zone of gold mineralization.

A hole drilled down-plunge from a previously identified mineralized zone called the Shaft Zone. The hole encountered mafic volcanic rock with ankerite-pyrite alteration and an 11.2-metre intersection ran 6.9 grams gold per tonne.

The hole intersected the mineralized zone about 100 metres west of a 1997 drill hole that cut a 4.3-metre interval grading 7.2 grams.

Another hole, drilled about 75 metres below the new intersection, encountered similar alteration and assay results on samples from that hole are expected shortly.
