Maude Lake ups Comtois

A 5,000-metre winter drilling program by Montreal-based Maude Lake Exploration (MAU-M) has increased resources at the Comtois property near Lebel-sur-Quvillon, Que.

The holes have established the presence of two gold-bearing horizons (North and South) and possibly a third. Indicated resources for the two zones total 1.8 million tonnes grading 4.5 grams gold per tonne (or 262,488 oz.) at a cutoff grade of 1 gram gold. At a cutoff grade of 9.05 grams, the resource is 695,485 tonnes.

Highlighting the winter drilling was hole 68. It cut: 2 metres (from 136 metres) grading 9.9 grams gold per tonne; 4.5 metres (from 183 metres) of 12.8 grams gold; and 3 metres (from 192 metres) of 33 grams gold.

Hole 69 cut 4.2 metres (from 106 metres) of 9.8 grams gold.

Previously, indicated resources were estimated to be 582,934 tonnes grading 9.13 grams gold and inferred resources were pegged at 122,866 tonnes of 5.11 grams gold.

Maude Lake is earning a half-interest in the Comtois property from the gold exploration subsidiary of Cameco (CCO-T).
