Two stories published by The Northern Miner in 2018 have been nominated for the 2019 National Magazine Awards: B2B.
Northern Miner editor-in-chief John Cumming got the nod in the “Best Profile of a Company” category for his look at Toronto-based Black Iron (TSX: BKI; US-OTC: BKIRF) in the feature site-visit article, “Black Iron advances Shymanivske premium iron ore project in Ukraine.”
Northern Miner senior staff writer Trish Saywell has been nominated in the “Best Profile of a Person” category for her in-depth profile of Barrick Gold (TSX: ABX: NYSE: GOLD) founder and philanthropist Peter Munk in the article, “Mining titan and philanthropist Peter Munk’s lifetime of achievement.”
A dedicated roster of 62 judges nominated 95 entries from 34 various B2B publications. The NMA:B2B notes “these finalists emerged from a rigorous judging process, made possible by the B2B industry experts who volunteered their time and expertise.”
The award winners will be announced on May 29 at a ceremony in Toronto.
The inaugural “National Magazine Awards: B2B” replace the defunct KRW Awards for trade journalism — which stopped in 2016 after 60 years — and come under the umbrella of the Annual National Magazine Awards, now in their 42nd year.
Congratulations John and Trish on being nominated and good luck.
Thanks, George!
Congratulations guys, well deserved.
Thank you, Steve!
I recall both of those articles and agree they were stellar. Congratulations to both of you and to The Northern Miner! GJM
