Two drills are working at zone 97 of the Grevet zinc project southeast of Matagami, Que., where VSM Exploration and its project partner, French-controlled Serem Quebec, are hoping to add significantly to reserves. From the zone’s peripheral area, hole 114 intersected 2.12 metres of 19.52% zinc, 0.09% copper and 22.2 g silver per tonne. Hole 117 cut 4.13 metres of 5.38% zinc, 0.11% copper and 20.4 g silver.
From the zone’s centre, hole 121 intersected 10.62 metres of 7.46% zinc, 0.88% copper and 32.7 g silver.
VSM says the zone is now known to extend over a length and to a depth of more than 500 metres. The current Grevet preliminary reserve estimate, outlined from zones III and IV, stands at 10.2 million tonnes grading 8.27% zinc, 0.44% copper and 34.8 g silver.
