COATS-listed Wye Resources has reported positive drill results from the Saganaga property located near Kashabowie, 140 km west of Thunder Bay, Ont.
The 43-claim property is under option from Curran Bay Resource (ASE) and Wye has the right to earn a 60% interest by spending $400,000 on exploration before Dec 31, 1989.
Extensive previous work by Curran Bay, including nearly 4,000 ft of drilling in 23 holes, encountered significant gold mineralization over a strike length of about 500 ft.
The best result from Wye’s recent drilling of the Powell Showing was a shallow 17.4-ft (9 ft true width) intersection grading 1.06 oz gold per ton. The recent drill intersection confirmed earlier results obtained by Curran Bay in hole 84-2 (9.3 ft of 0.83 oz).
The company says the current program has extended mineralization discontinuously in a 40-ft wide zone to a strike length of 700 ft and a depth of 200 ft.
