The chairman of Royal Oak Mines, Peggy Witte, will address the April 23 luncheon of the Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
Witte will speak on the topic of “building an aggressive mining company.” Vancouver-based Royal Oak, with annual gold output of about 200,000 oz., was formed through an amalgamation of the former Pamour group of companies. Royal Oak is negotiating to purchase the closed Hope Brook mine and mill in Newfoundland from BP Canada.
Witte was named Mining Man of the Year for 1991 by The Northern Miner.
