Initial indications of “very encouraging” results are reported by Geddes Resources (TSE), from a 35,000-ft definition drilling program on its big Windy Craggy gold- copper-cobalt property in northwestern British Columbia.
The company, which recently completed some 2,200 m of adit and drifting into the Windy Craggy deposit, says it has completed a first drill section consisting of three upwardly fanned holes.
One of these holes, (88-24), says President Douglas Little, is interpreted as having located the edge of the gold zone first identified by surface drill hole 83-14, which in an 1983 program intersected 0.29 oz gold per tonne from 1,370 ft to 1,542 ft, including 77.7 ft of 0.52 oz.
In the current program, hole 88-24 recorded assays of 1.84 g gold, 34 g silver, and 1.05% copper, from 240-242 m. As well, 1.39 g gold, 11 g silver, and 0.84% copper were intersected from 250-252 m.
Little says a second of the three holes, 88-25, interpreted as having neared the main gold zone, assayed 5.95 g gold, 31.5 g silver, and 1.31% copper from 306-308 m.
The third hole, 88-26, intersected both massive sulphides and gold zone type material. Little said over 220 m of massive sulphides are visually estimated in long sections to contain at least 3% copper and pyrite mineralization associated, at Windy Craggy, with gold.
Drilling has begun on the next section, about 30 m north, he said.
In a recent development, Northgate Explorations (TSE), acquired a 15% equity stake in Geddes Resources.
