The president of large gold producer Placer Dome will address the March 8 luncheon meeting of the Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).
John Willson will outline a variety of corporate mining developments worldwide in his presentation, “Placer Dome’s world — 1995 to 2005.” The company, which turned out about 1.8 million oz. from its mining projects in 1994, could be ready to top 2 million oz. this year.
The luncheon, at the Royal York Hotel, is a joint meeting of the CIM branch and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, which is staging its annual convention March 5-8.
