Partners CaribGold Resources (CG-T) and Pure Gold Minerals (PUG-T) have cause for optimism at their jointly held Willow diamond property in southern Saskatchewan.
Data, only recently discovered, from a heavy-mineral sampling program conducted in 1995 indicate that five potential kimberlite fields occur on the property.
The sampling was carried out by the Saskatchewan Research Council.
High-energy, clast-supported gravels collected during the program contain anomalous amounts of clinopyroxene-rich grains, which can indicate the presence of kimberlite.
The Willow property, situated in the Wood Mountain area, was recently subjected to a high-resolution magnetic survey. Results confirmed the presence of a large number of magnetic signatures characteristic of kimberlite pipes. Several of the magnetic anomalies are considered to be the potential source of the high indicator-mineral counts contained in the 1995 data.
