Widths disappointing, but Goodfish structure better understood

Although unable to duplicate the results of last winter’s discovery hole, International Platinum (TSE) says a recent 6-hole program has helped to define the complex nature of mineralization on the Goodfish property near Kirkland Lake, Ont. International Platinum and joint venture partner Glencairn Exploration (ASE) now understand that the A-zone, which returned an average grade of 0.26 oz. gold per ton over 90 ft. in February, is actually made up of three distinct, subparallel zones. All three zones remain open along strike and at depth.

Mineralization occurs along a flow contact in zones A-1 and A-3 and within a quartz-carbonate shear zone in zone A-2. Widths in the follow-up holes, however, were disappointing. In the A-2 zone, where the discovery hole cut 37 ft. grading 0.33 oz. per ton, the two follow- up holes intersected 3.6 ft. grading 0.1 oz. and 3.2 ft. grading 0.15 oz. respectively.

The next phase of the drilling program, expected to get under way shortly, will test the projected depth extensions of all three of these zones. International Platinum can earn a 51% interest in the property by completing 10,000 ft. of drilling.
