A new, low-profile scaling machine has been introduced by Teledyne Canada Mining Products. The ds-25 Scaler it consists of a Teledyne hydraulic breaker mounted on a single 6-m hydraulic boom which is linked to a 4-wheel drive mine carrier by an exclusive parallelogram boom linkage system. An extendable breaker feed gives a longitudinal movement of 1.52 m without need of moving the carrier to a new location. The carrier is equipped with a 912-w Deutz motor. Also, a turntable swing of 70 degrees plus a 70 degrees swing type feed extension (optional) give a wide sweep for good scaling coverage. Boom movements can be controlled by an operator 50 ft away using an electro- hydraulic remote control unit.
Options include a dozer blade to clear muck and a dust supression water spray system which is syncronized with the breaker.
The units tramming length is 8.89m and its tramming height is 2.5 m.
