Hitachi Construction Machinery of Brampton, Ont. , has introduced into the Canadian market a new hydraulic mining shovel, the EX3500. Incorporating advanced technology such as a computer-aided engine- pump control system, an optimum hydraulic system and a relief-oil-minimizing system, the new unit provides the reliability needed to make mining simpler, faster and more productive, according to a company release.
Design of the 328,000-kg EX3500 is based on that of the UH801, a mining shovel with worldwide availability in excess of 90%.
Powered by a 1,238-kW engine, the 17.0-cu-m bucket takes just four passes to fill a 120-ton truck in an average cycle time of 27 to 30 seconds. The unit can deliver a maximum crowding force of 1,177 kN and has a maximum traction force of 1,760 kN.
The unit is distributed in Canada by Marubeni Construction Machinery Canada and is available through authorized Hitachi dealers coast to coast. Aluminum Excavator Buckets
