Three new components, suitable for the automation of milling circuits, have been introduced by Davis Controls of Islington, Ont. A solid state pressure gauge, using a patented ceramic measuring cell, features resistance to overload and pressure peaks up to 100 times greater than normal; no moving parts and, therefore, no wear on components; high accuracy; temperature stability and resistance to shock and corrosion.
Programmable limit switches available from Davis feature ladder logic, integrated input/output, timers, counters, data handling and math instruction capability.
Voice dialing alarm monitors are also available from the company. The Microtel 250/Real Voice accepts spoken messages into the system microphone then translates them into a digital memory. In the event of a fault situation, the device automatically dials up to eight pre-determined phone numbers, ringing up to 99 times each, to advise key personnel of location and current fault status. — 30 —
