Filtra-Systems (Farmington Hills, Minn.) is marketing a fully automatic, high-pressure filtration system which, the company says, has operating costs 25%-50% lower than other filter systems available on the market. The company’s system is capable of producing filter cakes in excess of 90% solids. High-speed cycling increases throughput, reduces filter size and lowers cost, according to the company. The time between batches can be as low as five minutes. No operator is necessary.
The unit features: a filter surface area from 10 to 600 sq ft; a staked design of filter modules; capacities up to 50 tons per hr; end seals and diaphragms made of reinforced rubber; and standard scrapers and wash headers.
