A new non-nitroglycerin, all-purpose gelatin high explosive has been introduced by Austin Powder of Cleveland, Ohio.
Called Helix 75, it is recommended for blasting under wet or dry conditions in either underground or open- pit mining applications. The high velocity and high energy of the new explosive produces maximum shattering action for improved rock breakage, the company says.
The product’s high density allows the charge to sink in water and allows blasters to concentrate power where the most energy is required.
Helix 75 is packaged in moisture- resistent, coated manila shells, tapered nose tubes and 23-G cartridges in all standard sizes for easy loading.
