A new way to store liquids in exploration and mining camps is being marketed by sei Industries of Richmond, B.C. Called the Terra Tank, it is a fully collapsible container, constructed of a specially coated fabric that is extremely strong and resistant to impact.
Use of the tanks for fuel and water storage can result in significant cost savings over conventional steel drums or tanks, according to the company.
Advantages include easy transport, simple setup, light weight, enhanced fuel integrity and safety.
Also, fuel stored in the Terra Tank is not subject to contamination from rust or from oxidation from exposure to the air, since the non-rusting fabric always hugs the surface of the fuel.
Condensation of water and fuel evaporation are also eliminated.
The capacity of the tanks is 1,000 gal.
