What’s New DRILL FEATURES AUTOMATIC CONTROLS

Marubeni America Corp. of Bensenville, Ill., has introduced a Tri- Sensing System on its hcr-c180r Furukawa rock drill. By monitoring flushing air volumes, air pressure and rotational torque while drilling, the unit can automatically adjust itself when changes in substrata occur. This means holes are easily made in bad ground where other drills would have difficulty penetrating.

Other automated features of this new drill include anti-jamming, rod- changing and rod-greasing.

Also, a standard fuel-saving system reduces costs by as much as 50%, the company says.
