Western Troy adds up at Macleod Lake (December 17, 2007)

Thanks to a field season’s drilling, Western Troy Capital Resources (WRY-V, WTCRF-O) has updated the resource estimate at its Macleod Lake molybdenum-copper project in north-central Quebec.

The deposit’s Main Zone now has an indicated resource of 24.4 million tonnes at grades of 0.076% molybdenum and 0.53% copper, plus 0.05 gram gold and 4 grams silver per tonne. Another 3.8 million tonnes at 0.036% molybdenum and 0.29% copper fall into the inferred category, with 0.03 gram gold and 3 gram silver per tonne in precious metal credits.

The resource on the smaller, but higher-grade South Zone has also expanded, amounting to 1.5 million tonnes grading 0.18% molybdenum, 0.72% copper, 0.54 gram gold and 19 grams silver per tonne, all inferred.

A preliminary economic assessment is under way, with the results expected in March.
