Westbank Resources (VSE) has discovered a polymetallic showing on its property in Ben Nevis Twp., Ont. The find is located less than a mile from the Peter Roche showing on which a 325-ft shaft was sunk in the 1920s.
Known as the Erhart zone, the discovery was made during the clearing of an access road, Westbank says. Sampling of the mineralized zone has yielded erratic assays of lead, zinc, gold and silver. One sample assayed 11.1% zinc, 1 oz silver and 0.036 oz gold per ton with marginal lead values. Another sample had no zinc or lead but assayed 7.3 oz silver and 0.83 oz gold. Yet a third assayed marginal zinc and lead values but yielded 6 oz silver and 0.632 oz gold. The samples come from silicified zones controlled by shears. Westban k is continuing exploration with stripping, mapping and geochemical surveying.
The company is also being consolidated on the basis of one share for each three shares. The name will be changed to Northbank Resources. Newfields Minerals (TSE) is earning a 49% interest in the company’s properties via exploration expenditures.
