WAMIC plans fiesta day

The Women’s Association of the Mining Industry of Canada (WAMIC) will present its “South of the Border Fiesta” at Sheehan’s farm at Caledon East (northeast of Toronto) on Sept. 7 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Hay rides, home baking, a flea market, crafts, a bookstall and children’s events are among the activities planned. The day’s proceeds will go toward providing scholarships and bursaries for students in mining-related fields, as well as provide funding for charitable donations from the WAMIC Foundation.

The adult admission fee will be $5, with no charge for children under 16 years of age. For more information, telephone (416) 489-6239.
