VSM, Serem are happy with Orphee zinc zone results

Partners VSM Exploration (TSE) and Serem Quebec say drilling on claims optioned recently from Orphee Resources indicates that copper grades in a new zinc zone increase significantly at depth. VSM and Serem can earn a 55% stake in the Orphee claims, on strike about five kilometres from VSM’s Grevet Twp. zinc discovery in northern Quebec, by spending $750,000 on exploration.

With five holes now completed and a sixth in progress, President Mario Caron says he is very encouraged with results obtained so far.

They include hole 90-ORP-13, the deepest hole drilled so far, which intersected 7 metres of 2.07% copper, 3.88% zinc and 9.6 grams per tonne. Located at a depth of 552.70-559.70 metres, the intersection contained a 3-metre intersection averaging 3.37% copper, 6.90% zinc and 6.9 grams silver.

“Hole 13 indicates that the copper grade increases significantly at depth,” said Caron, who expects more drilling to be completed on the property next spring.

Two shallow holes also returned some encouraging assays. They included 15.65 metres of grade 0.60% copper, 3.40% zinc and 12.1 grams silver from 398.35-414 metres.

Caron says results from Orphee “extends the hunting ground” for the discovery of other lenses between Grevet Twp. and the new zone. “We just have to find them,” he said.

Meanwhile, VSM expects to table reserve estimates from Grevet Twp. zones 111, 1V and 97 by the end of this month. VSM is owned 50% by Placer Dome (TSE).
