Recent drilling on the Grevet zinc project in northwestern Quebec has intersected two new zinc-bearing horizons north of the Orphee zone.
Although the mineralization is not economical, partners VSM Exploration (TSE) and Serem Quebec say it looks the same as what is found around the edges of high-grade zones.
On the eastern extension of zone 97, hole GRM-130 returned a 1.88-metre interval grading 8.01% zinc, 1.10% copper, 34.39 grams silver per tonne and 0.5 grams gold. The zone hosts reserves of 3.4 million tonnes grading 10% zinc, 0.86% copper and 51.9 grams silver.
The program was designed primarily to identify new mineralized lenses. Most of the work was targeted on known geophysical anomalies.
The partners say an additional program will probably be carried out over the next few months in order to bring Grevet to the next stage of development.
