Visible gold found at Radcliffe’s North Lake

As Radcliffe Resources prepares to drill the fifth of a 10-hole program at its wholly-owned North Lake property 25 miles north of La Ronge, Sask., the company says it has encountered visible gold.

Vice-president Lawrence Roulston says all the holes completed so far contain thick sections of pyrite- rich arkosite. “This is the material that carries visible gold on surface and assayed to 1.5 oz gold per ton,” he said.

Drilling is also under way at Radcliffe’s Independence project in Elko City, Nev. where Meridian Resources is earning a 35% interest by spending $900,000 on exploration.

Meridian, the mining unit of Burlington Northern, is the operater of the Nevada program. Partners Euro- Nevada Mining, Wesley Mines and Radcliffe are retaining a 15% working interest carried through the next $1.1 million in exploration spending.

According to the Vancouver- based Radcliffe, the first hole of the program is a core hole which is probing for the feeder structure for the disseminated, near-surface gold mineralization discovered by previous drilling.
