Victoria uncovers graphite deposits

Forty-one holes representing more than 16,000 ft were drilled. Intercepts grading as high as 9.6% graphitic carbon were assayed.

“Process testing of diamond drill core samples makes it clear products of acceptable flake size and carbon content can be extracted at good rates of recovery from the three zones tested to date,” President A. H. Klein said.

The company estimates “possible” reserves (from only two of the zones) of 750,000 tonnes grading 7.04% to an average depth of 88 m.

Planned is a 12-month, $2.5-million exploration program involving stripping and sampling, development drilling, bulk sampling, market studies and a feasibility study.
