Fifteen holes were drilled in the first phase of the project. Among the better results were 10.8% graphitic carbon over 18.3 ft, 13.1% over 18.2 ft, 11.3% over 22.4 ft and 11.1% over 5.4 ft.

The company reports extraction of a 500-lb bulk sample from the original surface showing in the D zone pit in 1987 yielded 13.05% graphitic carbon with a purity and flake comparable to Madagascar flake graphite.

Another sample from the D zone pit recovered in January of this year yielded recoverable graphite in the 20-24.3% range with a purity and flake size comparable to that recovered from the 1987 sample, the company says.
