A sampling program by Ventures Resources (VRS-V) has returned encouraging values of copper, zinc, cobalt, silver and gold from the Wiseman property, 200 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska.
The property covers much of the Chandalar copper belt and consists of three mid-stage projects and 20 early-stage prospects.
At the Luna project, channel sampling across 30 ft. returned 3.44% copper, 3.1% zinc and 0.1% cobalt, plus 1.25 oz. silver and 0.014 oz. gold per tonne.
Individual rock samples contained even higher grades of more than 3% copper, 18% zinc, 0.2% cobalt, 5.7 oz. silver and 0.5 oz. gold.
Ventures says these results compare well with values encountered during the 1970s by the consulting firm Watts, Griffis & McOuat (WGM).
The company also reported the discovery of a zone of outcropping mineralization near a large copper geochemical anomaly at the Venus project. A 20-ft.
channel sample from this target returned assays of 3.22% copper, 0.081 oz.
gold and 1.8 oz. silver, though individual samples returned higher grades.
Ventures controls more than 3 million acres of land in the state through an agreement with Doyon Ltd., a native corporation. The projects are being explored in Ventures’ US$5.5-million Alaskan program, which is being planned and executed by the Alaskan subsidiary of WGM.
