Vein extended at Isle Dieu

Surface stripping on the Isle Dieu property near Matagami, Que., has extended, by 400 ft., the known strike length of the gold-bearing Edith vein.

Explorations Minieres du Nord (ME) says three samples from the extension assayed 0.32 oz. gold per ton over 2.7 ft., 0.12 oz. over 2 ft. and 0.1 oz. over 2.2 ft.

Sampling and mapping are planned for later this fall.

In addition, the Amos, Que.-based junior is contemplating a 7,400-ft. drill program on the western part of the property, where little exploration has been conducted.

The Edith vein has a geological reserve of 35,310 tons averaging 0.12 oz., while another vein, the Marcelle, contains almost 47,000 tons grading 0.2 oz. with 20% dilution.
