Junior explorer Vedron Gold (VG-V) has encountered some long low-grade mineralized intersections in its drill program on the Buffalo Ankerite gold property near Timmins, Ont.
The recent drilling, 13 holes in all, has extended the strike length of known near-surface mineralization to about 650 metres. The holes mainly tested mineralization above 200 metres vertical depth on a north-striking structure.
Most of the holes encountered quartz-tourmaline vein breccia in mafic volcanic rocks; mineralized core lengths were anywhere from 1.4 metres to 38.7 metres. Among the better intersections was one that graded 1.3 grams gold per tonne across 38.7 metres and another that graded 1.6 grams over 35.7 metres.
Some holes had local higher-grade zones, including on e that ran 6.6 grams per tonne over 1.5 metres. The zones are open at depth and in both directions along strike.
