A re-interpretation of old drill holes from the Bardome gold project located 30 miles from Val d’Or, Que., has been undertaken by joint- venture partners Val d’Or Resources (ME) and Abcourt Mines (ME), who have also started up another drilling campaign.
The holes were drilled about 250 ft apart along a strike length of 1,000 ft, the companies report. All of the results are related to the same mineralized shear and there is a possibility of a structural relationship between that shear and the Belfort deposit located 1,500 ft to the southwest, they say.
The area previously drilled is situated about 1,500 ft north of the ramp now being driven on the property. The ramp is intended to reach a gold-silver-zinc deposit containing 393,000 tons in the proven category, grading 0.04 oz gold per ton, 2.08 oz silver and 8.61% zinc.
Meanwhile, Val d’Or Resources reports completion of a private placement w ort h $1 million and also that an additional $350,000 has been raised through NIM Exploration Fund 1988. An agreement for funding with Societe en commandite Maufort 1988 was not completed.
