USMX hits gold in Mexican play

Drilling at the Noche Buena project in northern Mexico is confirming the existence of a large, disseminated gold system for USMX (NASDAQ).

Exposed gold has been identified as a result of surface and shallow rock chip samples taken over a 3,000×1,500-ft. area. The samples carry an average grade of 0.062 oz. gold per ton.

About 11,000 ft. of reverse circulation drilling in 35 holes have been completed to date.

Most of the holes returned low-grade gold mineralization and much more work will be required before an economic reserve can be outlined. Significant results thus far are as follows:

Hole Interval Width Gold

(ft.) (ft.) (oz./ton)

DHJ 12 185-309 124 0.050

DHJ 14 66-138 72 0.045

197-226 29 0.059

DHJ 16 7-105 98 0.033

131-177 46 0.037

DHJ 25 197-230 33 0.067

DHJ 31 75-114 39 0.063
