United Reef busy on several fronts

Progress is reported by United Reef Petroleums on four gold projects, three in Ontario, one in Montana.

On its Alder Gulch project in Montana’s Virginia City area, the company says 23 trenches have been cut on two of the gold-bearing vein systems, and appear to have exposed the Big Vein over a strike length of 600 ft.

The northernmost trench on the Big Vein was re-sampled, it says, and yielded 0.24 oz gold per ton over a width of 50 ft. Another alteration zone similar to the Big Vein material was exposed by trenching over a strike length of 3,000 ft., with an average width of about 40 feet.

In the Red Lake area of Ontario, United Reef has started an 18,000-ft drill program, with one of six holes drilled to date showing visible gold in altered volcanics. Assays are awaited.

In the Sudbury area of the province, at its Nickel Offsets project, the company is continuing to drill with two rigs, with reconnaissance drilling near completion. Delineation drilling due to start soon in three areas where precious metal/sulphide mineralization has been encountered.

United Reef also holds eight claim blocks totalling 113 claims in the Madoc area of south-central Ontario, and has concluded an option agreement on these claims with Orsina Resources.

Orsina can earn a 50% equity interest in the claim blocks by spending $500,000 on exploration. The company has already started a program on the property.
